I liked it, enjoyed the gentle humor. I also like how they acknowledged the stereotypes in the beginning, intentionally teaming the two opposite personalities. And yet they were already softening their boundaries by the end of the pilot.

The only thing I didn’t like was them immediately pegging the guy as intuitive and the girl as observant. They already showed us, they didn’t need to tell us too. Carter in Eureka was handled much better. We got a strong sense of why he was tapped for sheriff and he fit into the setting seamlessly. Tapping the two for W13 felt…a little forced. I do like the characters, though, and the show has promise.

I was just browsing the Warehouse 23 site, and came across this on Level 2:

I loved the steampunk keyboard…I assumed it was [this one](http://steampunkworkshop.com/taxonomy/term/11), but apparently not.
I thought it was lame-as-lame-can-be, but I’ll still give it another go. It’s cliche-city, but who knows? Maybe they can make it work.
Besides, Saul Rubinek and CCH Pounder are all kinds of awesome.

Toward the end, they show him using the cart with a car battery connected to the rails via jumper cables.

I recognized the actress who plays Myka from an episode of _Castle_. IIRC, she played a true-crime writer who made some very unethical moves to get the inside story on a fugitive.

I’ll be damned, you’re right. I’m watching through Castle right now and that was the last ep I watched. Didn’t even pick up on it.

She also played Bianca (the incredibly seductive vampire queen) on The Dresden Files. I checked out one of the episodes on Hulu to verify.
Damn, that woman can play both types of female sci-fi roles\*: hot, and smoking hot. I don’t think it is possible for her to play plain.

I liked Saul Rubinek’s character in Star Trek TNG and given that this was a pilot episode thougtht he did very well. He’s capable of creating a very animated character and hopefully the writers take advantage of this.

I liked it a lot, except for the final confrontation scene. I was expecting it to be a little lighter like Eureka, but except for the proprietor guy it seems a little more serious. I like the two agents a lot. I’ll keep watching. And…

I thought I’d start a thread for last night’s Warehouse 13 episode.
I enjoyed the episode. Myka and Pete aren’t quite so much at odds. Saul was as offbeat as usual.
The mirror that let Pete play ping pong with himself was pretty cool.
And then there’s that red haired actress who played the Record Company secretary. I keep seeing her everywhere but can never remember where. Seems she has a lock on the “cute but quirky redhead” roles.
What did everyone else think?

I remain sufficiently entertained that I’ll keep watching it if the DVR remebers to keep recording it.
But it is mild entertainment, I don’t feel like I’m really being grabbed. And, unfortunately, to me the two leads don’t really have any chemistry (I don’t necessarily mean romantic, just interpersonal).
I like Saul Rubinek, though.

Agreed that their chemistry isn’t quite pegged. Though I’m rather grateful that they seem to be targeting to have them be best friends rather than romantically interested in one-another. It seems a lot more believable given the characters and the actors.
The plot of the episode was okayish. Somehow it barely registered in my head and the ending seemed a bit forced where they automagically know that the villains were good people, that the villains automagically didn’t mind that he was making off with their music, and yet our heroes didn’t care enough to try and save the family. I guess they ran out of time and had to cut the episode short, perhaps.

Yeah, that’s pretty much my reaction. Still, I’ll admit that this episode was better than the pilot, and may have laid some groundwork for at least a season arc with the hack and Artie stuff.
Still want to know what the deal is with the football, though…

Looking up the cast on IMDb I’m very surprised to see that Eddie McClintock (Pete) is 13 years older than Joanne Kelly (Myka). He seems much younger than 42.
He’s actually older than the guy playing Dickinson, their boss until they were reassigned to the Warehouse.
