There’s an island in the middle of the pond where the Pandarians are in Stormwind. It should have portals to all of the Cataclysm zones, but they’re only going to be active if you’ve been to the zone already.

The chauffeured motorcycles are rewards for getting the achievement [Heirloom Hoarder](http://www.wowhead.com/achievement=9909/heirloom-hoarder). It’s the only pre-lvl20 mount, I think.

Wow, over a month since the last post here?

Anybody more experienced in Draenor than me?

Between the depression I was suffering at my last job, and the Cataclysm-like lack of non-raider endgame in WoD, I spent most of last year totally not logging into the game. I got my main (my ret pally, Eilyssana) to level 100, and then buggered off.

But, in the last few months, I’ve found my enthusiasm again. One of my complaints about WoD has been how “alt-unfriendly” it is, what with how much time is eaten up just doing garrison chores, leaving little time to play alts. I finished Wrath (the current expansion when I started playing the game) with three level 80s. I finished Cataclysm with seven 85s, despite unsubscribing for the last six months of that expansion. I loved Mists of Pandaria to death, and had nine level 90s by the time Warlords rolled around.

In just the last couple months, I’ve gotten a total of six toons to 100.

But goddam, I hope my alts are prepared for Legion. My main should be okay, but trying to gear my alts …

Tanaan Jungle is, I guess, supposed to be the new Timeless Isle. Okay, but good luck getting there, solo, on more than a few classes/specs. My ret paladin, my shadow priest, and my destro warlock got there just fine. That is, they all opened up their shipyards by getting through that Iron Docks scenario to find that orc shipwright guy.

Haven’t tried yet on my arms warrior or my BM hunter, but I sent my fire mage there.

Let me tell you about my fire mage … I really wish I hadn’t taken so long to get around to leveling her to 100. Solo fire mage was incredibly painful in Cata, and was almost as bad during MoP (seriously, at level 93 she was still almost constantly dying to level 90 mobs. Fire mage was the poster child for “glass cannon”. I felt like, in Cata and MoP, that Blizzard had decided that Fire was only useful in dungeons and raids, where there was a tank to keep aggro off the mage. Solo? No tank? Screw you! You’re gonna die a lot!

Seriously, you remember that series of scenarios to open up the Isle of Thunder? My ret pally, my shadow priest, my arms warrior, my BM hunter, and my destro 'lock breezed through those, more or less. My fire mage? Die, die, die, die, die. Getting my mage through those scenarios was a parade of corpse runs.

In Cata and MoP, fire mages had no survivability. So I neglected my mage in WoD.

Wish I hadn’t. Between Frost Shield and being able to bring a tank bodyguard along, I have been having a blast playing my mage again. Which I had really missed. Svelexi was my #2 toon after my main during Wrath (seriously, one of my favorite memories from Wrath was the night I came home from the karaoke bar completely hammered, logged in to WoW and queued up my mage, and successfully blew everything up in a couple dungeons without dying or getting any complaints from the rest of the party), but she ended up being supplanted by Syanalle, my nelf spriest during Cata and MoP. But when I finally got around to leveling her in WoD, it turned out that she rocked!

Until it came time to hit the Iron Docks. My mage hit that scenario with Defender Ilona as her bodyguard. My mage’s total kill count was … four. Four mobs. She and Ilona killed the first orc. They killed the second orc. And then … Ilona decided, all on her own, to attack the third orc. The orc who was standing right next to one of those elite orgrons. So of course, the orgron joined in, and Ilona eventually died, and that orgron came after my mage. The only reason Svelexi survived is because her heirloom trinket procced and spawned those void tendrils at just the right moment. She and the tendrils killed the orgron, and … she hearthed back to her garrison. She ain’t trying that again without a player-controlled tank. So no shipyard and no Tanaan for her yet.

Garrisons! Here’s another place my mage ran into trouble. Due to the lack of time she saw in Cata and MoP, she hit level 100 with, like, 9,000 gold. Really, Blizzard? It had just cost my warlock about 15,000g to upgrade her garrison to Level 3 along with the important buildings (profession shack, Dwarven Bunker, and Salvage Yard). My wealthy main mailed her 5,000g to upgrade the garrison, weeks ago, but the rest was on her own, and she just tonight finally upgraded her profession building and salvage yard to level 3. Because she’s still nearly broke.

So here’s my complaint about garrisons: You gotta be rich going in. Then I heard about all these players rolling in dough from doing follower missions, and I wondered how they were doing it. Well, duh, level 3 Inn unlocking more money missions. Since I swore off LFG during Cata, I hadn’t been doing the Inn dungeon dailies, so my Inns were stuck at level 2, and I wasn’t getting the missions. That’s what I get for barely logging in for almost a year, before getting back to it.

On another note, I am forever going to be transmogging my male draenei warrior’s weapons into polearms, ever since I noticed that his animations include the occasional “throw the weapon in the air, give it a spin, catch it and attack again”.

Salvage Yard: I am getting so frustrated with it. My paladin main has the full transmog set. My second 100, my shadow priest … like my paladin, she has all 25 of her followers at level 100 with 675 gear, and her Salvage yard at level 3, yet she can’t seem to get more than three of the big crates per day, and she has all of the transmog pieces except the head piece … and weeks have gone by and she just can’t get that head piece.

My warrior got the 610 head piece … and it’s that godawful Wrath horned helm.

Anybody got a geared tank willing to help my mage through the Iron Docks?

Need a bit of help. I’m trying to update my stable to level three and I know there’s a daily quest to make an achievement (“Master of Stables”? I don’t remember what it’s called). I got like 4 or 5 of the mounts and was training them daily and everything was going fine.

Anyway, I suddenly stopped getting any daily quests. There are two characters who give quests, both have stopped (which is weird. I’d have expected it to be one or the other)

I’ve gone through my quest log and there’s nothing there related to the stables at all. I’m one step away from clearing all the quests (there’s only about 10 or so), and if that fails, removing the stable and starting again.

Before I do that, any suggestions?

(Emphasis added.)

There are supposed to be six mounts, and you really can’t progress until you’ve tamed all 6. The daily rotation is to train one of the six, and if you don’t have that mount, I imagine you wouldn’t get the training quest, so would show as no quest available.

But if you haven’t tamed all 6, you should still be able to get taming quests for the missing ones. Very puzzling.

Yeah, I’ve tamed probably 4 of them, and I’ve trained all of them to about level 2-4 and I’m not getting any more capture or training quests. I’ve never had WOW just crap out like me on that.

This seems like a silly question, but let me ask it.

Your character is level 100, yes? A couple of the taming quests are [level 97](http://www.wowhead.com/quest=36915/entangling-an-elekk) and [level 99](http://www.wowhead.com/quest=36914/wrangling-a-wolf), respectively.

The question seems silly to me because it defies sense to try to get a Level-3 Anything in the garrison before your character dings 100.

Weirdly the quests are back. Whatever the glitch was (for two days!), it seems to have fixed itself. I’d love to hear any speculation on what happened though.

Apparently not that unusual in Warlords of Draenor. My paladin main has literally not seen a single one of those “Garrison Campaign” quests (the ones you actually get in the garrison, that is; she’s getting the Tanaan quests just fine). My other alts have been offered a few of them, but my paladin? Nope. I’ve heard I’m not alone in this.

I’m glad. There were several cargo-cult suggested fixes in various forum posts, like delete your cache folder or relog while standing inside the stable perimeter (rather than in the garrison itself), but I was hesitant to suggest them because they’re so voodoo. I hate non-linear behavior in software.

I had the same problem with the stables dailies. A thread on the forum suggested simply relogging while in the stables. I tried it, and it worked – weird.

I haven’t looked up what triggers a garrison campaign yet though – I’ve only seen three of the twelve on my main, and he’s been level 100 with a level 3 garrison for a couple weeks now.

Some of the starting questgivers are out of the way and virtually impossible to find unless you have quest givers turned on in the minimap and you explore all over your garrison investigating every quest exclamation point.

Ex: the Alliance chain has [Garrison Campaign: Crows in the Field](http://www.wowhead.com/quest=34409/garrison-campaign-crows-in-the-field), which is given by the druids in the hollow under the big old tree waaaaay at the edge of the garrison, out where folks almost never go. The starter quest giver for Garrison Campaign: The Broken Precipice (both Horde and Alliance versions) stands outside of the garrison walls!

Unless you search the garrison area diligently, you could overlook a cookie crumb.

The other common issue is that you don’t complete a quest chain from an earlier campaign quest. For instance, side quests in a garrison campaign quest area are mandatory, and the campaign step isn’t complete until you complete all quest objectives. Some are easily overlooked. For instance, Darktide Roost has a straightforward quest chain given by Rexxar at every step, but you also have to do a couple of side quests that are given by objects in the environment: the corpse of a dead goblin near Rexxar at the beginning gives a quest to kill X goblins, and a device on a table in the mid-quest area gives a quest to release mind-controlled rylaks. Neither are optional for campaign completion, but they’re damn easy to overlook.

If you aren’t using a copy/paste addon like Paste to glom the whole blob into the chat line, you can copy/paste one line at a time.

What you’re looking for is a stage in which “start:” is true but “end:” is false, meaning you haven’t completed some quests (most likely, haven’t started some quests).

Now that I’m paying attention, it seems they are also given once per week? Logged in tonight after the weekly reset and both my max level toons each have a different (new) garrison campaign quest to do.

My understanding (and experience) is yeah, a weekly tempo, but RNG is a factor; apparently, the dice may decide not to give you a quest one week or another. OTOH, I have also had a new quest appear as soon as I turn in the previous quest. So some variability, just enough to let GMs off the hook by virtue of making no promises.

Some of you may have already noticed this, but it would seem that [Garfunkel & Oates](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-gfxjAaZg0) is represented in WoD. I had my suspicions when one of my toons recruited a follower named “Kayt McCoats”, but it was just confirmed when my nelf hunter recruited a follower named “Rykki Lyndgarf”. (For those unfamiliar with Garfunkel & Oates, their real names are Kate Micucci and Riki Lindhome.)

And Legion itself is less than a month-and-a-half away.

Anyone feelin’ it? I’m not, but maybe the pre-Xpack patch may change my mind. Or it may drive me away from the game entirely, if they “break it” too much.

I haven’t bought Legion, and I’m still on the wall about it.

Still a little annoyed at all the stuff that I won’t be able to complete (like achievements, or maxing out my legendary ring on my main). But it’s always been like that, I guess, at least since WotLK.

ETA: At some point, I guess this thread will close and a new Legion-centric one will open? If precedent holds, at least.

Well they are getting rid of honor points and conquest points. Presume Ashran will shut down or become dormant as well?

I only play for the pvp (sorry but all these daily quests etc. sound like hell to me). Hopefully they won’t nerf it too badly.

Well, I got about 2k item sloshing around in the mail that needs to be added to the Wardrobe(my warrior has enough weapons in her mailbox to fight the 4th war all by herself).
Hopefully, I’ll be able to [dress up](http://www.wowhead.com/dressing-room#mpzm0zH8V0qr9V8kNf87VcWO87kM6y808M6n808M6T808M6j87V) my rogue and equip the new ‘the Fabulous’-title 😃
