Was Captain Harry S. Truman fighting anywhere near the 369th regiment at the Meuse-Argonne Offensive in WWI? Did the Battery D of the 129th Field Artillery, 35th Division\*\* . witness black soldiers in combat?

Not likely. Per [the White House Historical Association,](https://www.whitehousehistory.org/photos/harry-s-truman-in-uniform) Truman was in [Vosges](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vosges) and [this PDF](https://www.abmc.gov/sites/default/files/publications/Section7.pdf) says the 369th wasn’t there until 17 October 1918. Nearly three years after [the Battle of Hartmannswillerkopf.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Hartmannswillerkopf)

Thanks Skywatcher. I’ve been looking for any contact Truman may have had with Black officers or commanders during WWI. I couldn’t find any.
