Regardless of what’s Right, it makes sense to call it “2005” because we’ve all been writing “2004” on journal entries, homeworks, checks, etc. for a really long time. The whole point of New Years is to go “Wow! 2005 is coming!” Notice how the number “2004” now has a kind of old, dusty, grayed-out feel to it, and “2005” has a fresh, bright, future-y feel? So, you don’t have to call it 2005, but I think you should. ---
