Hear, hear. Dave is referring to a large impending tax increase here in the “Free” State of Maryland.
Which touches on something I wanted to say in response to Richard Parker, who made the point that there are benefits to living in expensive, densely-populated regions; otherwise, why would they be densely populated? I would answer that state and local taxes are invariably higher in such places, so we’re already paying a premium for the privilege of living near all the jobs and infrastructure. And the resultant higher federal taxes feel like paying twice.
