Because he has a penis.
Or something a penis can be symbolic for anyway.

I want to read the copy of the bible you found that in - the closest I can get to it is the fact that he boinked Mary.
It could have been God’s Ovipositor that did that, and that in fact God laid her Divine Egg in Mary.
It’s so nice to read something like this before I’ve had even my first cup of coffee. =/
Sorry, I was just referring obscurely to my own view that to insist that God is male is to insist that God has a penis, since that’s basically what it means for something to be male.
Another reason why it is a bad idea to give GOD anthropomorphic qualities. We have now arrived at a decision… GOD rev 9*10^99 .1.A2 appears to be a hermaphroditic, egg laying, virgin-seducing, STORK, with a cockney accent.
So you know that God is a “He” because God has a penis, and you know that God has a penis because he’s a “He”.
Okay, it’s not the worst theological argument I’ve ever heard.
No, that is something different and has to do with the born again process. Women are charged with raising and bringing forth children in the Lord, it is the female (or IMHO the female side of males, such as the Apostle Paul wrote you need milk and he is in the pains of childbirth) that actually does the re-birthing process.
In this case I’m referring to the son’s of God mentioned in Gen 6 and also Job 1 where there is some indication that Satan is a ‘son of God’. I believe God revealed to me that these sons of God are fallen angels who have committed the unpardonable sin. The way that God has established for their salvation is through them having children with the daughters of men, creating the nephilum, who are due to them being ‘half’ human, reachable and redeemable. I believe that Job is a nephilim and the contest was that God was taking Satan’s son away and adopting Job, read that was it does explain why this contest was allowed and how God was not being friendly with Satan but taunting Satan. Job would have not know this till the end, and be in confusion about why things are happening to him. I also believe David (and his ‘mightly men’) was also a nephilim as he had the wisdom of angels and followed a similar pattern as Job in his early life. In Ps 72:20 it states “This concludes the prayers of David son of Jesse.” yet Ps 86 is a prayer of David, a way this can be reconciled is that David was no longer the son of Jesse, but the son of God as God had adopted him through Jesus.
The sons of God like stars will eventually fade and die out and collapse into itself as it is cut off from God. People saved will be fed by God Himself and will never extinguish.
Perhaps at times Jesus doubted his own divinity, or God’s willingness to help him? I don’t think Jesus was the master of the universe, nor did he believe he was. Much of the meaning of his story has been lost in time.
But even then we have to wonder what a God truly is since we’ve never met one in our modern times. Can they be tempted, or their minds tainted with worldly desires to cause them to lose their Godly status if they ruin their bodies and minds with addictions? Do they succeed one another instead of living forever like we would like to believe?
There’s a lot that we’re not told, and maybe we weren’t meant to figure it out because it would spoil the illusion. Ecclesiastes said that there is nothing new under the sun, and almost sounded despondent when he described the endless patterns and stories that we live out. But it seems that our history was meant to be forgotten and that people work very hard to help us forget it, whether it be by natural disaster or the burning of libraries.
Perhaps this is what we do on a rock that spins around a star for eternity? We live in one age and then pass on to the next, forgetting what happened before so that when it happens again it is new to us.
That’s not what I said. I said that to call a person male just is to say that person has a penis. I wasn’t talking about how anyone knows God is male. I was talking about what it means to say God is male.
If one reads the entire New Testament,Jesus seems to imply that all men are gods, and he is no more God than they. Most of His teachings said"My father and Yours" He referred to the psalmist who stated." don’t you know you are gods, sons of the most high". He said this when accused of blasphmey. He taught them to pray Our Father. The meaning of the father and I are one, can be translated to mean that all men are a part of a greater whole. And we only have the writings of someone else who translated the bible stories, who could well have translated the sayings of what Jesus might have said, but maybe never did say!
Human nature is such that people have a tendency to build people up as a God. Look at the way people almost worship some celeberties, such as Michael Jackson now that he is dead, he is practically being held up as some great figure. depends on the publicist. And who we like to believe.
This I believe is true, we, once we come to God through Jesus are being transformed to the likeness of His Son, and becoming one in flesh with Jesus, and part of the very body of Christ. We like undifferentiated cells are really to come together to form one body and have one single Spirit, that of God.
In the name of Lord Jesus, this is false, a lie of the devil and is the foolish teachings of men, not the truth of God. God is well above men’s ability to alter the Word, as the Word is God. God is perfectly able to relate His Word to your heart using imperfect and even manipulative men. God is also perfectly to prove that His Word is true to those who seek Him.
Michael has set himself up as a god, even to the point of claiming immortality to a certain degree (Neverland ranch). He sodomized children causing great harm to them. I believe he is one of the very very few who will be sent into deepest darkness, not because what he did in itself is unforgivable, but a belief that he willingly committed the unpardonable sin, he ‘bought’ the life he had for the price of eternal separation from God. I also believe it is the cry of those children that God has heard.

[QUOTE]
The bible is a pre-approved collection of works compiled and edited by polticians and men of great public influence in an attempt to control the populace’s belief systems; control their beliefs and you control their will. Their efforts have been pretty successful when you look at history and consider how many wars have been fought under the auspice of the christian church and their doctrines. I have always viewed and interpreted the bible as a collection of life-lessons, not to be confused with any source of divinity. That being said, for those that plan their lives around the teachings of the bible, good on you, and you have the right to believe whatever you wish. I don’t believe in UFOs. I have never seen one and don’t plan on it. My life is on that of planet earth, meaning it will end here too, hence, I believe I am utterly incapable of trying to school anyone on what is to come afterwards. I prefer to apply this to those around me too since I believe we are all equal and should live our lives as such. I’m not greedy, one life is good enough for me and I’m thankful to have it.
It is a proven fact that the Bible and all teachings of any religion was written, taught and believed by humans. You can believe it is the word of God, but in reality you are taking the word of a flawed human. If your beliefs help you then fine, but you cannot prove the Bible is the word of God anymore than the Koran.
You have your own personal beliefs but the God you seem to worship is not a very nice being as you interpet him, he seems more like Satan, and I will take Polycarp’s God over your interpetation anyday.
That sounds kind of creepy to me. I’m not big on sharing my flesh with other people, let alone some guy I just met.
Oh, I’m so glad you’re here then! All of my life I’ve wanted to see the untranslated works of the bible, written in the original authors’ (of whom there have been many) hands! Post haste scan this in!
So judge-y. He hasn’t been proven to be a sodomite, let alone a pederast or a pedophile. If you have evidence, now would be a dandy time to lay it out. Well, your belief doesn’t comport with what your own, inerrant I suppose, bible claims. Do read your own rule book more carefully.
Such as I understand it, there’s but one unforgivable sin, which is blasphemy of Casper (or whatever is PC these days). I am aware of no circumstance in which he was a.) exposed to the so-called “truth” and b.) outright denied it.
Of course, one wonders if god were listening to the cries of the putative victims of Michael Jackson why he just didn’t prevent them from being molested in the first instance. I know I’m a person of questionably morality (it must be so since I’m an atheist and good Christian folks of your ilk have told me so), but I wouldn’t let a child be molested by anyone. Even if the child in question was a little shit whom I despised. I’m but a mere man, and even I would do all I can to prevent little children from being molested.
Imagine if I had true power over the universe to stop it. Wow. I could use that power for good instead of just sitting idly by and watching Michael Jackson do it (assuming arguendo that he did it). If this is the benevolence of your god, you can keep him. I’d rather befriend someone (thing?) which has an actual moral compass which guides his actions instead of a depravity which would allow such acts to actually exist.
It is the act of love that combines the 2 flesh into one, and in this case God and man, if anything it should be God that finds that creepy. God is willing to give man His authority and power, which comes from this union.
You don’t need me, ask Jesus. The Word is spiritual and speaks not to the mind but to the heart. Pick up a bible, one that man has translated, and as you read ask God to speak His Word to your heart, bypassing the effects of man.
God reveals absolute truth, He is aware of everything. It is God who judges, I just relay the info.
I don’t know if you can accept this, but just as the believer and Jesus become one in flesh, making a single person, and that single person’s sins are pre-paid by the death of that person. Micheal Jackson decided not to follow this path, but to unite himself with innocent children, transferring his dark soul to them, making them bear the guilt and bondage of his sin, while claiming their soul. This is the work of the devil, and how the devil operates, he lets others pay for his sins.
Since the children are paying for the sin, the debt does not come against MJ and he is free (for a time). It’s gotten to the point that the children hurt directly and indirectly by MJ are bearing so much guilt that they have cried out to God for help, and God will listen to the cry of His children. This also is the real danger of pedophilia and other sex crimes, the transfer of a dark soul into a innocent victim, freeing the perpetrator. This is why the victims usually feel guilty, they are bearing the guilt of the perp.
So, it’s a belief devoid of the mind? Which is to say that thinking isn’t encouraged?
Oh, incidentally, I’ve read Corinthians. I love the assumption that simply because I reject your myths and horrible religion that I somehow haven’t read a bible. That’s hubris on your part to presume that I haven’t. I, like many, if not most, atheists didn’t just decide to be an atheist all willy nilly. I studied the scripts for many years because I wanted it to be true.
I guess for this statement to be true it would necessarily be the case that you are privy to god’s knowledge. Are you in a position to speak with authority about what god will necessarily do, what decisions he will make?
I’m not sure that I can accept it either, at least not blindly. I’m always open to have my mind changed. However, arguments from fear and irrationality haven’t yet persuaded me to take any course. That said, are you really suggesting that the devil (or even a mere mortal like Michael Jackson) can actually can claim a human soul? If so, where does it stop? Presuming the child(ren) in question is/are devout christians, can the devil and MJ still own their souls? Is your god not strong enough to overcome Michael Jackson’s putative ownership of these children’s souls?
It is my understanding that victims of sin don’t pay the debt the sinner in question owes to god. Is there some source you can cite (yes, I’ll even take a bible verse on this) which espouses the view that if someone, say, murders me, I’m responsible for their murder and must pay for it? I suppose one could argue that’s a bad example since I died in it and the price for sin is death. So, let’s say I was robbed (the price for sin not being material goods or money – those are left simply to get salvation I can only assume given the offering plate ordeal), in addition to being robbed must I also pay for the robber’s sin on judgment day? This sounds like a very quirky system to me: not only must I pay for my sins, but also the sins of anyone who sins against me.
Strange, but I read the Bible through ove 20 times, I think it was about 24, I did ask God to show me the truth and I was led to question the words I had read and I could say I was inspired to see that the Bible was incorrect in many ways, and that God does not have a special religion, nor did He inspire any writer. It was truly a work of humans.
I could see that the writers of the Bible state that God choose murderers, adulterers etc, to supposedly lead His people when all people were not included. May innocent people were killed, tiny babies etc. The Bible is very contradictory and a God would deal only in truth.
People believe what they want to be true and avoid really search for what is true.
I still want what is true and I cannot see any truth or even logic in your beliefs, but you like to think that you are the great translator of God’s word’s and anyone who differs is of Satan; to me that is arrogance. To each his own I say, as long as others are not harmed by it.
I would think God would be insulted to have someone think He is as cruel, selfish, unloving, egotistical, ignorant father as your description comes across. Maybe you don’t mean it that way but if you were describing a human that way, that is the properties one would say he had.
I have comtemplated this event a lot during my life.
Two questions:
What were we saved from
and
Who was Jesus sacrified to in order to save us.
You know what. Who cares? This is one story amongst hundreds of thousands of stories that human beings tell to help understand the meaning of their lives and of various human traits. It’s not a bad story. But it’s also not the ONLY story, and yet it’s been discussed and focused on to death, all merely to stroke the ego of obsessives who founded entire marketing empires and their own personal investments around it.
Move on already.
