> Of course McDonald’s is junk- I can make a delicious grilled turkey burger on a whole wheat bun with oven fries that’ll taste 1,000 x better than anything at McDonald’s while being a million times healthier- BUT that’s not what anyone is claiming. What folks are claiming is that if we get the same fat content beef the McD’s uses, make the same size patties, and cook them in the same way . . . well, then it’s going to be more or less the same.

But that’s also kind of a fallacious claim as well -I can’t really see the nutritional numbers bearing out… unless you were going to make a 1/10 th of a pound turkey burger and tiny fries, and really, storebought whole wheat buns have minimal nutritional difference compared to so called “regular buns” maybe a tiny bit more fibre but it’s negligible and don’t forget the HFCS in both. See, in your example of the healthier and trendier dish, somehow I picture a 1/4 lb darkmeat ground turkey burger with let’s say, oven baked and oiled sweet potato fries in let’s say, a typical Red Robin, Applebees’s, Ruby Tuesdays portion. No, for my dietary concerns, I would still pick a McDonald’s hamburger and small fry, and come out ahead.

You eat that turkey burger a couple of weeks ago, and your chances of death or serious sickness would have been expononential, also2.

> Definitely true. Before the end credits, there’s some text explaining that Spurlock lost most of the weight gain over the next year by switching to his girlfriend’s Vegan diet and getting the rest of the way there by going back to his **normal eating habits, which were presumably non-Vegan.**

Bolding Mine, simply No. I have heard so much different, by his own accountanance and addmittance in interviews, that he essentially ate a vegan diet. His boast of being omnivore was simplky his “cutting edge” and “freewill balls” of a castrated man… He wasn’t an ideological vegan, but he was a vegan in practiece… kinda like Hitler.

**devilsknew** , you’ve got something weird going on in relation to Spurlock, or vegetarianism, or something.

Identifying as an omnivore while eating a largely vegan diet isn’t a “boast.” It’s just an acknowledgment of the fact that one sometimes eats meat and animal products. It’s usually the vegans and vegetarians who are interested in drawing the careful distinction between eating _no_ meat and just a little, so if anything I expect Spurlock is deferring to that sensibility.

I got no problems with vegetarianism… if I could afford them to sustain me I would cut way back on meat for veggies… I love fresh veggies… probably more than you. I simply cannot afford so many in a pure capitalist market and a realistic nutritional manner. Don’ hsve the time or ambition either… as 80% of Americans.

Yeah, you know who else doesn’t have the time or the ambition these days? Hitler.

I hear he’s making a comeback.. They defrosted him from cryovac in an undisclosed location in Argentina. He’ll be along shortly to tell you to eat your peas and carrots, under penalty of internment. MCHolocaust '12
