It isn’t just “Hootie” (you DO know that his real name is Darius right?), I noticed several other celebs in it too. I can’t remember now who - but someone. Perhaps theres a version of it on BKs website…I’ll see. ---

Brooke something-or-other who used to do E! Wild On is sitting on a swing at the end. I was facinated by this commercial. I thought maybe I had dropped some drugs without even knowing. It was very surreal. ---

I thought that the band was named after some friends of theirs from college, so that no one in the band is “Hootie” or the “Blowfish.” ---

I’ve been oddly transfixed on this thing too. Apparently the Old Navy Advertising folks are still getting work. That certainly is Hootie (Darius Rucker, but damn it he’ll be called Hootie no matter who corrects me) and Brooke Burke looking mighty tasty. My question is if there are any other celebs in there. The people look strangely familiar, but it could just be that everyone in a western outfit looks the same. One girl has a serious Xtina look to her, but I’m guessing it just the ubiquitous group of hot commercial models. ---

Man, Hootie/Darius registered in my mind for all of 0.01 seconds until they started showing all the … ahem … spokeswomen. They certainly know how to advertise whatever it was they were advertising. And hard times? What? If somebody pitched that commercial to me I’d be on it like a … well, like a rockstar on hot chicks in cowboy uniforms. ---

Saw this ad for the first time yesterday. Surreal. Hootie and the hotties. The song he’s doing, by the way, is [“The Big Rock Candy Mountain,”](http://ingeb.org/songs/onasumme.html) an old folk tune about a hobo’s fantasyland (with the lyrics altered to promote BK products, of course).
