I don’t know the man, but my guess is that he had no idea how significant his actions would be. It seems to me it was an attention getter and fundraiser for his congregation and their friends. Without national media attention, it would have been just another church social/ book burning. Then he found out actions have consequences. Oops. Bet he made a bunch of $ off the publicity though. ---
