Was the Flight 587 crash an Accident?

I am not saying anything is proven. YOU seem to be saying that it wasn’t Islamic Terrorism because they are good people who would never do anything like that. By there own admission they WOULD do something like that.

Sooo…because there are Islamist terrorists who would want to bring down a plane, any plane crash should be blamed on them?

That reminded me of a scene from the movie Hope and Glory, it was based on a book by a writer who was a boy in WWII in England. One night, the family came back from the city, they encountered their home engulfed in flames!

“But… but… there was no air raid siren!!” The mother sadly screamed.

The firefighter told the mother: “It was a gas light… it happens in wartime too you know…”

Of course, seeing december’s name as the thread starter, filled me of the same dread the mother had when approaching the burning house…

Please don’t bump 2 year old threads TWOTfan!

Sadly, that’s all too true of the kind of propaganda that was used*…and has spawned ever more sophisticated versions to the present day

(*such as the only-recent acknoledgement that 173 people who died at Bethnal Green station were killed by a panic rush, and not by a bomb as was reported. I mention it now because it still hasn’t made any school text book, despite being the single biggest air raid shelter death toll)

Oh, bollocks, I’v ebeen debating with cyberghosts? :smack:

They would also be quite capable of wishing to take “credit” for any act that would demonstrate their “power.” Given that every post-accident investigation pointed to a failure of the tail assembly, I see no reason to suddenly believe that there was an explosion in the fuselage, for which there is no evidence and which would not have had the same effect on the tail assembly, just because some kook wants to enlarge the perception of his group’s powers.

Just a clarification: the example I brought was, at least as the author mentioned, the truth: the fire was caused by a gas leak. I still think Flight 587 was an accident too!

And I am not a Ghostbuster, I am sometimes a Ghost debunker though.

But yes, one has to keep an open mind when one considers that the flight recorder was damaged and very little evidence was gathered about the cause of the crash. But, as tomndebb mentions, I would not thrust a terrorist’s say so as evidence, that reminds me of a joke:

A Wife made a horrid dish, and after asking his husband for his honest opinion he replied: “It was so bad, that 10 terrorist organizations already claimed responsibility!”

Sorry! I know nothing about this “december” person – hadn’t even HEARD of SDMB 2 years ago.

Here’s an article for your consideration:
