Oh, it was! Got it at a place on Victoria Island. Possibly in Nanaimo.

But I’m thinking some BBQ sauce, chicken breast, some onion, corn, and cilantro would make a good pizza. Haven’t decided yet whether there should be cheese.

The reasons are not obvious to me, please explain. Garlic and pineapple sounds good together.

It is definitely an acquired taste. But since I’m Hessian I had to show some patriotism. 😉 I actually prefer “[Kochkäs](http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kochk%C3%A4se) mit Musik” as it is milder than Handkäse. I have heard people describe the taste of Handkäse as “tastes like smelly socks”.

Mrs Baci got me into ordering Hawaiian pizza with anchovies. One of those taste combinations that shouldn’t work but does - magnificently. Takes the taste to a whole new place. Like pepper on strawberries.

Whoa. Whoa. WHOA.

Pepper and strawberries?

Well, um, yes.

Not particularly common, but certainly not unusual.

And yet, not so much. It’s just gross. I can’t explain- you’ll have to try it the next time you get a PJ’s pizza.

I had a pineapple pizza for the first time in Hilo, Hawaii’s only pizza joint (at that time), a little hole-the-wall pizza place in 1970. It basically was what is now being called a “Hawaiian pizza”. Heck, that place would put poi on the thing if you wanted it (cooked poi is not good).

Well, dammit!

All this talk about Hawaiian pizza, and… Well I went to the kitchen to make a grilled Cheddar cheese on local-bakery bread sandwich. And at the last minute I ordered a pizza instead.

The bad news: It’s from Little Seizures. (Not a target-rich environment around here.)

The good news: It’s actually not that bad. Plus I got a Supreme pizza too, since I like to eat leftovers for days. The bill came to $21 and change and I gave them my credit card. After a minute, the kid called another kid over. This one spent some time typing on the computer/register and asked for my card again. More typing. Then, ‘Well, the credit card reader doesn’t seem to be working; so I guess you can just take them.’ 😃
