Was there anyone Hitler actually liked and respected?

Hitler was close friends with Ernst “Putzi” Hanfstaenglfor years, though eventually things went sour and Hanfstaengl had to leave Germany.

Boooo!

Interesting that he liked Karl May’s dime novels; wasn’t Eisenhower a fan too?

He was also very fond of Eva’s young daughter, though not respected.

:dubious: Eva Braun never had any children.

Einstein was, I don’t know about Eisenhower. But, really, Karl May was enormously popular in Germany. A lot of people liked May’s novels.

Ah, yes. Totally had forgotten about it!

Time to revisit The Simpsons, methinks.

Sorry, I was referring to his niece, Geli Raubal.

Ferdinand Porsche?

If you’ve never seen any of Hitler’s watercolours from his starving artist in Vienna days, they’re mostly of buildings. Speer was an architect, who created drawings of buildings. So, the failed artist in Hitler admired the successful artist that Speer was.

Porsche didn’t design the Beetle for Hitler. He did want to build a rear engined, air-cooled vehicle that would be affordable for the working class and he did so. Hitler wanted the working class to have affordable vehicles as proof his programs were improving the economy and to justify the building the autobahn. It was a case of their desires coinciding. They both took advantage of each other.

Unity Mitford? Diana Mitford? Diana was one of the few people to be on close terms with both Hitler and Churchill.

the gas company

I’m assuming that Hitler’s affection for Mannerheim cooled down significantly during the Lapland War. Mannerheim, by the way, never thought highly of Hitler. He was cautious, though.

Joke, I know, but just to clarify: The “gas chambers” in Nazi death camps did not actually use gas from utility companies. The deadly fumes were provided sometimes by exhaust from diesel engines and sometimes by the cyanide-based pesticide Zyklon B.

Wahnfried (sp?) Wagner, also, if I have the name and spelling correct, and, if Im not hallucinating.

How 'bout Leni?

There was the pilot Hannah Reitsch and the filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl.

… Blondi?

Winifred Marjorie Wagner née Williams, from Hastings, England.

Wahnfried was the name of Richard Wagner’s villa: Wahnfried - Wikipedia
