This thread just reminded me- a few years ago a medical assistant working in an urgent care center here in town died* at work* from an asthma attack. Case in point- you really want to go to a hospital if you’re having breathing problems.

I think you mean “intubate” as in sticking a tube into your body. Although your typo produces a funnier and toasty mental image.
I also vote that the ambulance ride was necessary. You can’t take the risk that someone suffering from a systemic allergic reaction will probably be okay, because if things suddenly go bad, they’ll go really bad.
