Catch him in **Shadow Of The Vampire** , easily keeping up with Willem Dafoe and John Malcovich. _Great_ flick! He’s also totally wasted in **The Avengers** -oh, wait, _everyone_ was totally wasted in that piece of crap (or acted like they were). "You call them **Erbs** , and we call them **Herbs** …because there’s a fucking “h” in it! ---

I have another EI video, made (I think) before the HBO special. There is a hilarious routine about the Trojan War: “Oh, there was Agamemnon-- great warrior. And Ajax – great bathroom cleanser.” “What, my name is Achilles… **and** I have an Achilles’ heel? Was this your idea of a joke, mother?” “Mind you, if I were Achilles, I’d have my foot in a f\*ck-off block of concrete! Of course, it’s then hard for him to kill anyone.” [mimes trying to stab someone but is weighted down by his concrete foot] “See, then he needs to have wheels on it.” [then he does a bit where he tries to drive it like a punt, goes off course, then finally arrives at where he wants to go, stabs the enemy soldier] “Thanks for waiting!” ---

Gopher God 72: I did the **exact** same thing Friday night! Missed the beginning, and didn’t know what to make of it, or whether it was funny, for about the first 60 seconds that I watched. By the time it was over, I was in tears, and my sides hurt. It was one of the funniest comedy concerts I’ve ever seen. And he did an excellent job of making his other-side-of-the-pond stuff still hilarious for an American audience. ---

Too bad we don’t have cool film festivals in my town. Just some run down theatre that gets all the “artsy” films not big enough to hit our major cinema’s. I’d love to see the “Cats Meow” again, but it’s gone… too bad for me ---

Fuck! Super fuck! I don’t get HBO2! And British videos won’t play on American VCRs, I believe for the same reason DVDs can’t cross international lines- the whole PAL/NTSC(?) thing. Man. This really eats.☹ ---

It is harder to find Izzard’s two earlier shows on video, as they were taped and released in Britan. However, I was able to purchase them mail-order in North American format, I think the company was located in Vancouver but I can’t remember the name. I believe there are four available on video, and we have them all! 🙂 Do a search, if you can’t find a vendor I can try plumbing the grey matter and see what pops out.
