We had a layover in Chicago’s O’Hare a few days ago and decided to treat ourselves to some comfort at the “Admiral Lounge”. A guy walked in, dressed from head to toe in what I can only describe as extreme 60s hippy attire. Both top and bottom were of materials covered with bright flowers and other exotica, as were his shoes. And he was wearing a tie of the same sort of pattern (made me wonder what he wears on casual Fridays). His hair was quite long and tied in a pony tail, dyed with greenish-blue tinted striping. He had a walrus mustache and looked to be about 65-ish. Any ideas? ---

I’d guess eccentric - replace the florals with tie-dye, and remove the moustache and hair coloring, and you’d be describing my ex-husband ---

Returning from a music festival? At many of the festivals I’ve attended, such attire would be fairly mainstream. ---

Those of us who are stuck somewhere between Weirdo and Eccentric would love to be called Merely Eccentric. It implies Einstein-like brilliance coupled with Musk-esque cash. He was getting some food, so I sat there pretending I was texting, with the camera pointed in the direction he’d be coming from. It doesn’t capture the true glory, but you get the idea.
