Washing your beard -- soap or shampoo?

Shaving gel mostly. I shave in the shower so it ends up as my face wash.

You flubbed your line: “I like it, too!”

Ivory soap for me - top to bottom, stem to stern.

Tits to teeth
Gums to thumbs.

^ Is that from something or is it just on the _P family coat-of-arms?

It’s definitely an expression. Well, I heard it somewhere.

It’s from Santa Clarita Diet.

I don’t wash my beard at all–I’ve never seen the point.

Thanx! I haven’t partaken of that particular show, yet; maybe now’s the time.

When I was cutting off all my hair regularly, I had little use for shampoo so I just washed my beard with soap. Since I’ve been letting my hair grow out, I just wash the beard with shampoo lather. It’s on my head already, does the job just fine.

I answered based on my husband - he shampoos his head and his beard at the same time using the same shampoo.

It’s really good, I’m on my 3rd or 4th run though it. This was the show, that you may remember, had it’s billboards banned (or maybe voluntarily pulled by Netflix) in Germany. Apparently people were offended by them. Here’s a youtube clip to give you an idea of what it’s…like. It’s gory, but keep in mind, the show is actually a comedy. FTR, that’s a clip from Season 2. Not really a spoiler, just worth noting. Youtube has individual trailers for each season if you want to watch the S1 trailer instead. I just like this one because it’s a good example of the gore and the amount of swearing.

Plus, it’s got a ton of people in it. Beyond just Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. It has The Waitress (of It’s Always Sunny fame), Nathan Fillion (and Alan Tudyk), Andy Richter, Natalie Morales, Ricardo Antonia (Carlos, Eva Longoria’s husband on Desperate Housewives), Malcolm Barrett and Jonathan Slavin (Lem and Phil from Better off Ted), Thomas Lennon, Joel McHale, Maggie Lawson (Juliet on Psych), Portia De Rossi, Linda Lavin (Alice) and quite a few others.

It’s a quick watch too. Half hour (so, 22 minute?) episodes and funny so you can buzz through quite a few of them in a sitting. And they cancelled it after 3 seasons it’s not that you’ve got 100+ episodes to watch.

ETA, after I hit submit I saw that I was in the beard washing thread and was briefly worried I posted to the wrong place. We got a bit off topic, didn’t we.

^ Didn’t seem to slow anyone down. Let’s pretend it never happened and maybe they won’t notice.
::whistling::
(Thanks again; I’ll check it out soon.)

::Turns and casually walks in other direction::

This is the way it’s done by all righteous and proper men. All you others are weirdos.

Shampoo and conditioner.

Then another conditioner (specifically made for beards) when I get out of the shower.

This is correct. If I am washing my hair, I use shampoo for hair, face, beard, body… everything. If I am not washing my hair, bar soap for everything.

Soap is soap.

Whenever I have a beard–shampoo if it’s grown out to any kind of thickness, just use soap if not.

My point was: you don’t need the shampoo; it’s just watery soap with different perfumes.
