# Washington/Canadian feet in sneakers mystery solved

You may recall that over the past several years 9 separate feet shod in sneakers have washed ashore in the Pacific Northwest. There were lots of theories of foot fetish serial killers and what have you.

[The British Columbia Coroner’s Office says it has solved the mystery](http://blogs.seattleweekly.com/dailyweekly/2012/03/mystery_of_the_floating_feet_s.php). No serial killer, no Mafia whacks, not even one murder. Almost all of the feet have been ID’d and all of the people drowned, either by accident or suicide. And the shoes are so protective of the feet that they preserve them even as the rest of the body falls apart and gets chewed up by the fishies.

So now we know – the B.C. coroner is in on the vast conspiracy!
