You have done nothing but make assertions. The Mormon splinter groups are comprised of Mormons. The Mormon splinter groups share doctrine and dogma with the mainstream LDS. The LSJUMB is not even comprised of _athletes_, for goodness’ sake. They are not recruited by, funded by, trained by, scheduled by, fed by, housed by, or tutored by the athletic department. In direct response to a question about Stanord’s _teams_, you posted a link to the _band_. Do I need to show you where you did that? The band is not a sports team, and it was dishonest of you to suggest otherwise. The band is not the sports program, and it was sloppy of you to suggest otherwise. The band misbehaved twice, and was penalized as a result. No one was asaulted, no one was robbed, no one was raped, no one was hazed, no one drove drunk, no one was murdered. I can point you to examples of all of the above being committed by atletes at Division 1 schools. Yet you choose to portray the sports program as being dishonored because of two examples of stupid, tasteless, offensive _jokes_ about religion. I have never contended that the band is a sports team. ---

One more response, Contrapuntal, and then I’m through with even attempting to discuss this issue with you outside of the Pit, where, if you desire, you may begin a thread on it. Look at the posting of mine, to which your query was a response to. Then get yourself a nice introductory book on logic. ---

[/QUOTE] As of now, my Illini are blocked from hosting any post-season playoffs/championships in any sport as long as they continue to use the Fighting Illini “mascot”. This represents a huge financial drain (no jokes about Illinois football, please), as the revenues from those hostings add up toa huge amount of $$ (no cite).
