First, I want to apologise for the further hijack.
Scotticher, I am so sorry. My attack on you was churlish, rude, brutal, and unbecoming of a Doper. You are among the Dopers I admire for compassion, and for me to attack you in such a vicious manner makes me cringe when I re-read my spew. Please forgive me for taking out my rage at a bad situation on you.
To the rest of the SDMB: I’m sorry for my outburst(s) in this thread. My carpet-bombing of angry bullshit was the equivalent of, paraphrasing John Varley, “the dropping of a turd into a beautiful Ming vase.”
I hope to regain any credibility I had.
It is apparent, P.T. Smegma, that you have gone through a great injustice due to the Washington State goverment. Forgive my ignorance ducks under table but I’m not exactly clear on your contempt for your state beyond this law…I can understand if it is something of a delicate nature that you do not want to discuss on the board, but in that case, it kind of makes your statements rather confusing to other posters like me.
Try not to get too mad if posters try to rationalize what you say, P.T. Smegma- I find it rather theraputic when I post a rant in the Pit thread and have posters reply with stuff like “If you look at this a little closer, its not worth getting that mad about” because it helps me see when I am being hasty about some things. Its easy to get mad about something, but not always as easy to justify the anger.
The only feeling I have right now is unending curiosity over what happened to P.T. Smegma.
If you want, P.T., you can email me what happened. I won’t tell anyone. Just a suggestion.

Well, I’ve already racked this thread to a fare-thee-well (sorry, Elwood), so I might as well try to further pull my foot out of my mouth. 
I don’t hate Washington state. I met, fell in love with, and married my wife here, going on 14 years. We have two beautiful children, good friends, good family, and three utterly demented cats.
We had a very painful experience with one of the government agencies treating us in a very high-handed and frankly cruel manner. Financially and emotionally, we are pulling ourselves together (two years later). As I so stupidly demonstrated, sometimes this experience colors my perception of this fine state, and I lay blame where it doesn’t belong.
I’ve given some thought to starting a thread on the subject. I’ll want to secure my wife’s agreement, as the subject was traumatic for the both of us. Maybe I’ll get some Doper help. Maybe I’ll get, “Well, that explains why you’re a dick.”
