We don’t have any “deer crossing” signs by us. They all say “deer xing”. How do you pronounce that anyway? Is it ‘zing’ or ‘ex-ing’? ---

Does anyone else count down the miles after a sign saying “WATCH FOR ANIMALS NEXT 57 MILES”? I’ll bet if I creamed an elk at mile 58 I’d get a new car on HIS dime. ---

So it’s crossing. Although as I child I assumed it was zing. I grew up in a suburb, so it was a legend painted on the street: SLOW - SCHOOL - ZING. They must have been really excited about their schools to paint the roads like that. ---

I don’t see how it’s stealing if everyone who’s ever come across one of those crossing signs made similar jokes. Is telling a chicken crossing the road joke stealing? If so I’m gonna need a cite as to who originally told it. ---
