Line up the people who don’t like Family Guy and you have a bunch of people who don’t “get it”. I don’t mean they don’t understand it, but they don’t “get it”. Family Guy is refreshing because it lets me know someone out there has a healthy perspective. At the polar end of the Family Guy field is those dumb ass Olsen twins and their dribble they call T.V. Why Family Guy? Because it is as rewarding as “Full House” was insulting. If you don’t find it funny, that’s my litmus test for calling you a dope. The sexual harrassment episode? You need a cartoon show to pull that off - regular TV could never approach that. See, that’s the whole point - it’s sort of ironic. A cartoon is almost the only way to be that irreverant. I know people who don’t watch the show because they don’t understand Stewie and the dog. They discount the whole show because those two “characters” aren’t real. Duh. ---

Hate me, boyo, because _Family Glop_ is a lame, disagreeable ripoff of _The Simpsons_ and _Pinky and the Brain_. Any show that’s been cancelled three times deserves oblivion. This and Fox News Network prove Rupert Murdoch hates the United States and will stop at nothing to see it destroyed. Fie on you, Uncle Beer, fie, fie! You had a golden opportunity to move this to the Pit where I could really tear Stewie and Co. ten or twelve new ones, and you blew it! Fie! Fie! ---

I didn’t like the family guy. I got it. I just didn’t like it. The early round of publicity featrured the baby and I thought the show was going to be about the kid. Kind of a look who’s talking but, you know, funny. When I watched the show the baby and the dog were the only funny parts but the show concentrated on a cheep rip off of Homer Simpson but with none of Homers redeeming qualitites. So go and hate me. ---

I loved the episode referred above where Stewie is packing to leave home (It’s his first birthday and he fears that the “men in white” are going to put him back into Lois’ “uterine gulag”.) He’s packing all the essentials for his trip - C4 plastic explosives, machine gun, extra ammo, baggie of O’s cereal. \*\*Did anyone tape Wed.'s part 2 episode? No matter what you think of _Family Guy_, you have to admit it’s one of the fastest-paced shows ever created. It’s great for people with short attention spans. I have a short attention span, which I blame on ---

This show has it’s brief moments of originality here and there. However, I’d say it was about as funny as, say, The Critic (RIP). As much as people whine, bitch, and moan about the Simpsons, it’s still about the best thing on TV and the standard by which all other prime-time cartoons are judged. And by that comparison, Family Guy sucks ass. If you REALLY want to see a funny cartoon, keep yer eyes peeled for “Home Movies” on Comedy Central this fall. From the makers of Dr Katz and Squigglevision. It is ridiculously funny. Only thing that might hold it back? Paula Poundstone voices the Mom of the main character. And in light of current events, this might be a bit of a public relations nightmare. ---

The comedy comes not from the “plot” of the episode but from the short little flashbacks and such. ---

“I’m Nudes on Ice!” from Wednesday’s show was perhaps the most brilliantly funny bizarre thing I have ever seen. I laughed so hard I literally feared for my life from loss of breath. ---

Like I said before, I love this show for it’s irreverent scenes and flashbacks. Which character said that last one, anyway? (I assume that the others were different, although I doubt it. Were those quotes from the same character?)
