I got this Paypal email a few minutes ago that was a confirmation of my purchase of a 60 gig Ipod. It looked just like a regular Paypal confirmation of purchase email and used my Ebay name and address and offered a link for dispute resolution at the bottom in case this was not a valid purchase - well how convenient because I sure didn’t order — Wait a minute the text looks kind of funny on this email - Hey! It’s a picture not text. So I check my Paypal account using the usual links and sure enough there’s no purchase on my account. I wonder there that link would have taken me? ---

I had a similar email confirming my ordering of an expensive watch. The major problem was that the “ship to” info wasn’t even close to my info. I went to the Paypal site and, of course, there’s no such transaction. I sent the email to their spoof department. ---

If you mouse over the link, it’s also not to ebay or paypal but something else. Other things to watch out for-they address you as “Ebay user” or “Paypal member”, rather than your log in name. Or they tell you your account is in danger of being shut down and you must click on the link immediately. ---

There’s nothing new about the type of phishing email described. I’ve had plenty similar.
