ug. i woke up with a little alcohol still left in my system. i have to drink heavily in order to tolerate the horrible writing on “X-Files,” which my SO insists isn’t that bad. _shudder_ my new impersonation of scully: “i am a scientist!” mondays have never been my forte. ---

Nothing wrong with Doggett that a little good writing couldn’t handle. The whole show is about 3 seasons past it’s sell-by date. So why do I keep watching? Feh. When are we going to get a Lone Gunmen spinoff? Here’s an idea: 3 Lone Gunmen and a Baby: Scully discovers via amniocentesis that her baby is a hybrid of herself, an alien, Mulder, and the lone gunmen. Unable to handle this, she leaves the baby with the Lone Gunmen shortly after it’s birth, then disappears, possibly the victim of foul play. Weekly zaniness ensues as the lovable whackos dodge aliens, the FBI, and assorted goverment heavies while trying to put out a weekly newspaper, take care of a precocious infant with telekenesis, find the missing Scully,and hopefully get laid some day. Recurring character and family-friendly bad-guy, known only as the “Tootsie-pop-Sucking Man” to be played by Dom DeLuise. ---

I stopped watching X-files a couple years ago when they got into the “ok, we now have a loyal fan mase who will watch whatever we put on” stage Have i missed anything fun ( **racerx** what you want is some tomato soup, a little hair of the dog and loads of water) ---

I did notice one fairly good in-joke on last night’s show: Scully was telling Doggett about how the metal was taking over the man’s system. Doggett replies “You mean a metal man? That only happens in the movies.”\* Other than that, the writing this season ain’t been great. [sub]\*–What’s-his-name (Doggett) was the bad liquid-metal dude in _Terminator 2_[/sub] 🙂 ---
