This is just so freaking cool! And I didn’t see any other thread on it.

> A billboard that draws humidity from the air in a rain-starved part of Peru delivers 96 litres of water a day - and has become a local attraction.

I agree that it is very interesting. Notably, the conditions in that locale indicate a 98% humidity and yet little rain. This appears to be an ideal solution for potable water in those areas.

Cool, now all we need is a droid that understands the binary language of moisture vaporators.

The price seems reasonable as well. Could be quite a help in any number of areas of the world. I wonder what the minimum practical humidity has to be for it to function effectively?

I wonder what a long-term effect of having a lot of those around would be, however? If everyone in the area has something like this, does it drop the humidity in the area, and if so, what effect does that have?

It says that the initial setup cost was $1200, but does not mention how much it costs to run it.

Yeah, I was thinking durability and maintenance costs too.

Also, it looks like it’s right next to a highway - seems your coffee might end up with a dash of diesel smoke.
