Does anyone have any info and/or factual refs about whether or not a waveless (soft-sided) waterbed gives equal or more back support than a firm, conventional mattress?

Supposedly, our softsided, waveless waterbed (with individual bladders) conforms to your back offering the best support, but I have my doubts - esp while trying to nurse an aching back into good health. Looking for facts, but personal experience is welcomed, if it does not offend the Moderator. Thanks, Jinx!
