I have five or six original (real) Pyrex measuring cups and I can honestly say that I’ve only ever used one of them (the 2-cup) for measuring liquids. I’ve always used them for heating and cooking. The handle is what makes them so useful and convenient. Fudge, maple syrup, butter, eggs, popovers…they all work great in a measuring cup. ---

I use one to cool my coffee: pour from coffeemaker carafe into measuring cup, then from measuring cup into mug. The double pour through the open air cools the coffee just the perfect amount for me to drink it. The spout on the measuring cup makes for a clean, neat pour. ---
