It was basically just a potassium spray. Sure, it got rid of moisture, but…

For banana flavored scent [Tri-Flow](http://www.triflowlubricants.com/Superior_Drip/superior_drip.html) meets that description.

I’m not positive, but Goo-Gone might have a banana scent.
As to the OP, powdered graphite is, in my opinion, best for locks.

Goo Gone is citrus-y.

**Marmite Lover** – the expectation around here is that your posts be your own material, not glurge cut and pasted from elsewhere.

Use graphite or another dry lube like Dry Slide, or a least a non-hygroscopic viscous coating like beeswax, which is well-suited to loose tolerance sliding parts like doors and drawer slides.

I use endust on my aluminum sliding ladder but that’s aluminum against aluminum. If it’s a sliding door there should be a wheel involved.

You might be thinking of Hoppe’s #9.

My new favourite lube and corrosion fighter is [Fluid Film](http://www.nlsproducts.ca/fliudfilmfaq.html). For a marine environment nothing fights rust better. Contains NO solvents. It’s food grade too, so I suppose in a pinch you could eat it. I use it in all my locks, and it smells kind off pleasing. Lanolin based. Check it out.
