McConnell held up the appointment of Obama’s guy for a year so that “the American people could decide” in the upcoming 2016 election, but once the shoe was on the other foot, he made no bones about the fact that he has no intention of doing that with a Republican president. I can’t name or recognize a single member of the Canadian supreme court, and I would guess the vast majority of Canadians couldn’t. I also can’t remember any of the judges dying or stepping down, let alone people freaking out about it.
