# We got'sch a new puppy!

Yes, this is a blatant hijack. Just a quick update about [Scout, my new doberman puppy.](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/new-dog-suggest-names/969230/38) After a week, he’s settling in very well - will quietly lay on the bed with the other dogs, sits and downs on command (most of the time). Recall is good. He has his moments where he annoys the adult dogs, but for the most part, things are settling down. Has chewed on a few things he shouldn’t, but if I watch him, he’s easily diverted. If the big dogs run out to bark at something, he joins the pack. He’s still under close observation, but I’m not as worried about him.
