This means, it’s officially tryin’ to be Summer heah. This is south Jawja. Summer starts in May. Maybe this Sattidy, the pool will be warm enough! YAY!!! So, how’s the weather where y’all are? It was lovely here yesterday, high 60s (maybe over 70 at the highest) and mostly sunny. Supposed to be nice today, too. The 10-day forecast calls for some type of rain every day through next Tuesday. I’m hoping that changes, because I have a lot I’d like to do in the garden, preferably without rain. I’m going to try to get off work early today so that I can get something extra done. **doggio**!!! Good morning all, even if it is Monday. 😉 I had my pre-op phone call this morning, and all is ready for next Monday, woo hoo! I can hardly wait, especially to be able to read and enjoy it again, and to be able to do my crocheting. Although I was able to watch that jousting scene in _Game of Thrones_ last night, only out of the “bad” eye, so I couldn’t really see it. ---

I’m not sure what MMP stands for, so hopefully my contribution isn’t off-topic or too stupid. I got my brakes fixed for $60 this weekend. And today the honeysuckle tree outside work is in full bloom and it smells beautiful. ---

You will need to provide beer and chocolate to various members to continue participation. Think of it as a [del]bribe[/del]love offering. Meanwhile, I’ll rustle up the requisite initiation squid; someone else will have to provide the goat. Thank Og I can buy squid in the local gas stations (that is not a joke, BTW). ---

**Rachelellogram** , Welcome! **MMP** stands for Monday Morning Post, and you’re right in the spirit. It’s a place for straying off topic, updating friends with your life, no matter how mundane or pointless. It can never be hijacked, because random sudden changes of subject are standard fare. Unlike the Boards in general there is no obscure initiation rite, but that when called for you should bring the beer, and most importantly, **mom (FairyChatMom** gets chocolate on a frequent basis. ---

We’re hitting mid 90s this week, this on top of what they’re calling “an [exceptional](http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html) drought” for us and indeed much of the state. I think we’ve had less that 10% of our normal ytd rainfall. Hey, all you tall drinks of water, come hither! ---

Cicadas? We so far seem to be cicada-free in this area. From what I understand, that’s to be expected as the neighborhood is only about 4-5 years old, so any dormant cicadas have probably been paved over. There was a weird description of them in the paper the other day likening them to chicken nuggets for dogs and how someone’s dachshund had eaten a couple hundred of the things. Ick! Painting has not been splendid. The walls and ceiling were originally painted with dead-flat paint that’s been like a sponge to the new paint. The first coat is up and is blotchy. Oh well. Back to work for now, and back to painting tonight. ---
