Geeze, for public safety reasons [this is the second time this year\*](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=16559655&postcount=5) I’ve had to point out this salient fact:

Should your slide rule catch on fire, you’re going to need a class D fire extinguisher to put it out.
