It’s not moving…it’s just sitting there with a slightly dazed look on its face. It doesn’t look obviously injured. If it doesn’t move soon, I think we’ll call the wildlife rescue service and get some advice. ---

Why couldn’t your location be Detroit, or Copenhagen, or Buenos Aires? That’d be much cooler. Hope your wombat is OK. I bet I never type that again. ---

I wish I had a wombat in my yard occasionally. I only seem to get possums. And birds, of course. And the neighbour’s cat. And bees. And butterflies. And ants. But no snakes, wombats, foxes, echidnas, or kangaroos. ---

I’m at my mother’s place at Bowral this weekend. The bloke from WIRES came and had a look. He said there’s nothing wrong with the wombat and it probably just got lost going home to its burrow last night. Now it’s disoriented and doesn’t quite know what to do. He tried a very high tech method of getting it going (shoving it with a broom), but it won’t budge. His advice was to let it sit there. It will probably start moving again once it gets dark in a few hours’ time. In the meantime the neighbours’ dogs are howling incredibly. They clearly don’t like having the wombat so close. ---
