Scott was one of the first friends I made here. He was sweet and funny and caring and I can’t imagine anyone ever disliking him. I wish he’d been able to attend the LA Dopefest last year. I wish I’d gotten the chance to meet him in person and I envy those of you who have. I miss you, hon. ---

Being another Southern California doper, I had always hoped I would have had a chance to meet him at one of our gatherings. He always seemed to be a nice and kind-hearted person, and the response here on the boards show this. My condolences to his friends and family. ---

I don’t hardly anyone here, but I read alot of threads. I read alot of his…he seemed to be a wonderful person and added alot to this board. I always laughed reading his threads. So sorry to everyone that knew him. My condolences. ---

We don’t know a heck of a lot about each other on here aside from what’s posted in these threads (except for those who email each other or know each other offline). But after we read someone’s posts for a little while, we get a sense of their self, their being; when something happens to them in real life and it’s posted here, we feel their joy and their pain. That’s why this place is better than most message boards or other online communities. We learn from each other, and we live through each other. ---

Oh, how awful. Thanks for posting the link to the news story–I can’t wrap my mind around something when I know no details. Except this is something I’d rather not wrap my mind around. My condolences to all who are feeling his loss so keenly–and to the rest of us, who feel the shock of losing a boardmate. ---

One of the reasons that I enjoy Dopefests is that I can connect a face and body to people that are very important to me but I have only seen as dots on a screen. Unfortunately, there is one fewer of us that I will be able to see in real life. ---
