Is this just you starting a new thread as mentioned in the recently closed one that got out of hand, or are you really unaware of the whole rule change on mysogyny? ---

Some of us just hoped that we could, say, post a thread about a blouse or our period or a bra or some other reasonable thing without hearing “I’ll be your bra” or “Tits or GTFO” or “Pics or it didn’t happen”. These…suggestions…are still in the process of being worked out. ---

How many threads about this are we going to get? Why don’t we just go back to the good ole ways of doing things? I can see why the SDMB resists change so much: every time there _is_ one, you get a ridiculous amount of complaining and whining. Let’s just keep everything the way things were a few weeks ago, forget any of this ever happened, and as **Munch** said, “Let’s all just calm down…” ---

I am unaware of any new rule changes, but I have started to notice that people are getting warned for very strange things that I would not have thought were beyond the rules (latest two were in **Skald’s** thread about his skanky co-worker). So we _don’t_ have any new rules, but people are still being warned for things that are outside of the new rules that we don’t have yet? I’m still confused. ---

Right now, the rule seems to be that sexual jokes about women are not allowed in serious threads, and that vaguely sexual jokes are not allowed unless they are on topic. This happened because a lot of women complained about the misogyny on this board, and cited those things **Anaamika** mentioned as being problematic. The rule is still in flux, as they are trying to work out a balance between allowing posters to have fun and not alienating women on the board with jokes that require misogyny to be funny. ---

There were no warnings issued in that thread. There were a couple of mod notes. When people ask loaded or biased questions or ask questions based on very flawed premises, I sometimes just say “no.” It’s my way of discouraging those kinds of questions. When I closed the other thread and said “the mods are going to discuss this and get back to you,” I meant it. That wasn’t a hint to open a new thread to fight the same fights again. Don’t open any more threads about this.
