The Soviet leadership thought he was a nut, a religious fanatic. I recall a news story a few years ago, where some Russian official was claiming that the election of Reagan caused the Soviets to seriously consider a nuclear first strike; pre-emptive self defense as it were.
That weren’t no claymation, pardner: Fluck and Law’s latex puppets (and darn good ones, too!) were terrific, along with some first-rate voice talent (including Chris Barrie of Red Dwarf).
