For as heavily modded as this board is when it comes to insults, it’s incredible that we still have the infuriating rolls eyes smiley. I could link to countless threads, but here’s one. Scroll to post [172](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=15116587#post15116587). I hate that passive aggressive/dismissive crap, and I’m not alone. Quite often it’s used as a work-around to call another poster an idiot and get away with it. It’s ridiculous that the thing exists, and that if the insulted poster fired back with words, they’d get dinged. And if it can’t go, SDMB should lighten WAY up on casual insults. At least those aren’t passive. ---
