I just read a blog post from an e-friend of mine who has what most consider to be a good job with a Large International Brand-Name Company who had to borrow money from his parents to pay a bill because the LIB-NC hasn’t given its employees a cost-of-living increase in ten years. It really put my crappy job in perspective. I got two pages of my story (exposition) written and reached a stopping point. Tomorrow or the next day I shall start writing the angsty part before the action starts. It’s a lurve story so there has to be some angst. ---

Also, **EmilyG** , remember that some of us are old geezers. When I was young I was very broke and had times of no job and times of lousy jobs. I worked hard at the lousy jobs and got less lousy ones and got old and saved money and things improved. When I was 30 if you had told me that in a little more than 30 years I would be able to retire comfortably and own a house and have spendable income, I would never NEVER have believed it. But I did. Having a husband who also worked hard and saved money has helped, but at 30 I never expected to have a husband either. So, time changes a lot of things. I hope things get better for you sooner rather than later, **EmilyG**. ---

Thanks, **kayT**. And thanks for the video, **Spiderman**. 🙂 Yeah, I think part of it is that a lot of people around here seem a bit older than me (I’m 30.) And a lot of people seem well-educated (I guess my Bachelor of Music degree isn’t worth all that much.) As for me finding work around here, there’s the dual problem of me not being perfect at speaking the official language of my region, plus me being screwed up in the head. Ah well. I am looking into finding work, though due to a bunch of unfortunate events, there’s been delays in getting help for me finding work (a long, complicated story.) ---

I’ll admit, I haven’t read, but I had to share the good news: RT is coming home!! For good. He got a local job which he’s starting after thanksgiving and my dad picked him up from his old job and they’re on their way home now. The hours of the new job aren’t the greatest to start, but he only works 5 days a week. :D:D ---

I’ve read here sometimes and thought the same thing. Right now I’m going through some really bad times - fired, no unemployment, over qualified or wrongly qualified for everything out there. And my BPmeds went toxic on me and getting through that has been (let us say) quite an adventure that ain’t over yet. Just in time for the holidays – right on. We got some savings and the Old Wench has a job for now but ------ it is frightening no matter what. But its like the old “no shoes” saying - I got someone who loves me and I know things will get better. Ages and ages ago, I was laying in a hospital with a doctor who figured if I bought green bananas I was being optomistic. So I figure all these bumps and panics are just gravy in a road I may have never seen. And I got the Dope. Don’t sell this place short. It is probably more theraputic for more of us than will ever admit. ---

I have to concur with everyone else here - you have to find your blessings where you can. I am blessed with a good, stable job but the past few years destroyed my credit so my living conditions are currently not ideal. Also the folks who helped me out the most in the past few years now have it very hard, so I’m helping return the favor (sink or swim as a group). You really just have to run with what you have, try not to fuck up (or fuck anyone else over) and hope for the best. Despite noise to the contrary it’s still pretty hard to get along well out there in today’s world, and I think a look around here on the board proves the point. If nothing else I hope people can see they are not alone, in more ways than one. ---

Today is Big Corporate Inspection Day. Everyone will be highly stressed. This is bad. I have a minion today. This is good. My minion is Anxiety Girl who is extremely OCD and must have things to do or she will freak out. This is bad. We started revising the restaurant guide recently and I can foist the retyping job on to her. This is good. While she’s doing that I can work on my story and make it look like I’m doing actual work. This is even better. And then I have to get my foot x-rayed today. Have to. This is still up in the air whether it is bad or good. ---

Twuck wouldn’t crank this mornin’ so I had to drive ‘Stang into irk. This is not a bad thing except for poor Twuck. I’ll jump him off this evenin’ and then go to :eek: Wally\*World :eek: to get the battery checked out. The battery is just a little over a year old so I want to know it that’s the problem, which I shall suspect if’n Twuck starts right up with a jump. I am not a mechanic but I strongly suspect the battery. Fortunately I do not have to go anywhere today as I much prefer to drive Twuck when I’m out and a bout as Twuck gets better mileage. Also, it’s coooooold out so I’m glad I don’t have anywhere I have to go. **Spaz and doggio** good luck dealin’ with TPTB today.
