Web browser "Brave" - anyone else tried it?

been using brave since 06-2016 … firefox is my default … also use tor. in the past, i’d also used chrome 'n vivaldi 'n yandex 'n opera.

chrome … didn’t like it enough to keep it … was no faster than firefox and, since chrome is world’s most popular browser … it will be targeted the most by hackers and other schmucks who think they’re all that. yandex … huge download (larger than safari) … not entirely sure why that was. used the browser for a short while … seemed to use resources more than others (at the time). the one thing that ultimately drove me away was the fact that it’s russian based. at that time … quite a bit of media coverage accusing russia of election meddling and other nefarious social-news bullsh*t. in lieu of that … ended up removing the browser. vivaldi … not much to say about it … used it briefly (after yandex removal) … never had any issues with it … aside from it not being robust enough (security regards). opera … nice browser … used extensively back with my win-xp os … changed computers and os … opera was forgotten about.

right … the brave experience … haven’t had any issues with it. seems faster than my other browsers … doesn’t seem to use that many resources … utilizes the chrome engine. blocks ads 'n malware 'n trackers 'n fingerprinting. they also offer an “opt-in” feature (brave-ad rewards) … for those who wish to generate a bit of spare change. this opt-in feature is turned off by default.

Curious, albino_manatee, why you use Firefox and not Brave? You seem to have nothing but good things to say about Brave.
