I am about to bid on a web design project for a client who will be selling their product online and needs an online store with some sort of shopping cart capability. I haven’t done one of these before and am looking for an application, preferably something open source/free. Can anyone recommend any e-commerce apps?

Thank you in advance!

Haven’t researched this lately, but [OSCommerce](http://www.oscommerce.com/) is the granddaddy. [ZenCart](http://www.zencart.com/) is supposed to be better. There is also a web service called [Shopify](http://www.shopify.com/) that’s worth looking into. Good luck!
