Is there a site out there that will calculate “If you had bought stock X on date Y and sold it on date Z you would have made @ many dollars.”

You could use the [historical prices](http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?s=MSFT+Historical+Prices) available at Yahoo Finance. Be sure to use the “adjusted close” column, as the nominal prices don’t reflect dividends.
