I haven’t worn a wedding ring for at least 20 of the 30 years I’ve been married. I don’t like to wear rings, and it doesn’t fit any more anyway.

My husband has never taken his off, as far as I know.

I’m married but do not own a wedding ring, so never, I guess, but that implies that I own one.

About half the time. I take it off when I’m toodling around the house or playing tennis. Whether I’m wearing it or not has no bearing on how committed I am to the marriage. It’s merely a pretty symbol of that commitment. Some people try to draw conclusions about why I’m not wearing my ring, and I just shrug.

My SIL, who was nutso crazy about her ring – only she or my brother could ever wear it after the marriage – lost it after they did a finger-touching-finger transfer of the ring so she could water ski. He reached down to unknot the rope and bloink! it fell off his pinkie into the water. She cried crocodile tears over it.

My ring, on the other hand, was safe back at the cottage because I’m not nusto crazy about wearing it. I resisted saying that to her seeing how she was so upset.

Never. I wore it for a few years, but now I don’t even know where it is. I don’t wear any jewelry or watches. For some reason, they bug me. In April we’ll have been married 19 years.
