# Week 11 CFB -- Which AP Top 25 team(s) will lose?

Scoring for this week’s poll is as follows:

1. Pick a team to LOSE and they LOSE – **+1 point**

2. Pick a team to LOSE and they WIN – **-1 point**

3. Fail to pick a LOSER in a game involving two Top 25 teams-- **-1 point**  
(two Top 25 teams playing – one must lose)

4. Pick both teams to LOSE in a game involving two Top 25 teams-- **-1 point**  
(two Top 25 teams playing – one must lose)

**##### NOTE WELL:** The rankings are a mix of this week’s AP and last week’s CFP

New CFP numbers will be available Tuesday.

For our purposes of picking losers, all ranked teams – in either system –  
that are playing this week are in this week’s poll.

The poll choices show Ole Miss as #4, where Alabama should be, and Alabama at #6 where TCU should be, etc…looks like you used last weeks rankings for the poll choices.

Since the CFP Committee’s numbers don’t come out until Tuesday, this is a hybrid of last week’s CFP and this week’s AP. The Yahoo! schedule rankings are using the old CFP rankings (not the AP’s), so I’ve had to make do with both sets of rankings.

The important thing, it seems to me, is to provide as complete a list of the Top-Ranked teams so that Losers can be picked. Matching rankings is not the main objective.

And since the head-to-head games are labeled with the funky codes it ought not be too hard to avoid illogical poll choices.

Missing the head-to-head games will be a challenge as there are six such games, and thus twelve teams!

I guess this is the price we are having to pay for trying to cover the “Top 25” using two separate ranking systems. I figured getting started early outweighed getting it all in the CFP system. (It is way more work, though!) 🙂

BTW, I did try to say all this in the OP! 😃

Please read the OP and Post #5. Yahoo!'s schedule is using last week’s CFP numbers, which don’t get updated until Tuesday. Disregard the rankings, if you will. The teams in the poll are in _somebody’s_ Top 25, and I figured what the hell. 🙂

Since the hodgepodge of AP and CFP rankings was confusing this past week, and since my source for the schedules uses the CFP rankings (Yahoo!), I will delay this next week’s poll/thread until after Tuesday’s updating of the CFP numbers.

Trying to get the whole thing in AP terms is just not worth the extra work. I have no issue with someone else taking that extra trouble to get a new poll/thread up earlier than Tuesday.

Okay, wait. Somehow I misread this. The name of the thread has always been “Which AP Top…”. Why do you need to wait on the CFP ranking late Tuesday night? If any of the teams are playing on Thursday that gives you less than 48 hours to complete the poll. I say stick with the AP.

Yahoo!'s schedules are now based on CFP rankings, so the schedule that will appear after today’s AP numbers are released will have last week’s CFP rankings determining which teams appear on the “Top 25 FBS” schedule. To get the new thread/poll in AP terms means digging around to find those games and adding them to the schedule manually. Then after the new CFP numbers arrive Tuesday, fixing things again.

AP would be great, but Yahoo! decided to mix-and-match their reporting.

As I said, I have no problem with somebody else doing what it takes – using some other source than Yahoo! – to get the new week’s poll in AP terms.
