Weekend in LA (LAX area), where to eat?

Any ETA on that? I’ve been putting off another visit to the CSC for about a decade for that.

“A few years” was the answer they gave at the at the table they had setup to talk about it.

If you have kids to entertain then I highly recommend a visit. General admission is free, there’s plenty to keep adults interested while the kids explore, and they have a fennec fox.

There’s a space shuttle in that wrapper. It will be quite the unboxing video.

Rumor has it they’re tenting it for space termites.

Oh man, so it’s not even on display in runway mode now like it was when I last visited?

It’s “fully stacked” which means the shuttle is mounted to the fuel tank and booster rockets. They have pictures and videos of this happening. Pretty cool, but not as impressive as driving it over from the airport.

It will be displayed vertically with an elevator next to it that stops at various observation decks along the way up.

Chips is a great place to have visited if you have any interest in LA or googie history. Second only to Pann’s as the best example of surviving mid-century commercial googie architecture in southern California.Glad the food holds up, but you’re really going for the time capsule-ness.
