Manhunter ties in loosely to OMAC as Cameron Chase shows up and turns out to be an old friend of Kate’s. Exiles is fun as usual. Ultimates 2, I enjoyed. Wildguard : Fool’s Gold continues to amuse me, but I;m a big fan of Nauck’s art. I miss Young Justice. Lullaby #4 concludes the amusing little miniseries, and sets up what I think is an ongoing. The Authority : Revolution gives us an excellent cliffhanger ending. Finally, Red Sonja - Hmm… reserving judgment.
I loved this issue. Sure, a lot was recap of the last little bit of last issue, but it was fun getting it from Chimpy’s POV.
House of M 4:
Well…I was liking it. The only way I’ll be able to enjoy the rest of the series is to assume Wolvie’s just speculating and doesn’t know what he’s talking about, since ‘hearts’ desire’ still contradicts just about everything we’ve seen. Hell, he’s talking to Cage, who definitely didn’t want what he ended up with when he comes up with that theory.
Ex Machina #13 – This arc hasn’t really grabbed me as much as the last two did, but by the end of this issue I’m reconsidering that stance. Excellent cliffhanger, and I thought it was very funny and realistic how Mitch got picked for the jury. Good issue.
GLA #3 & 4 – Really cool wrap-up to this series. The last page was brilliant, but I love the idea that these chumps finally got involved in all the cosmic stuff going on in the MU. And I dug the appearance of Dr. Doom.
Mnemovore #4 – This has become one of my very favorite comics. It is really, honestly, scary, not to mention the horror Kaley’s broken memory visits on her. The art is also gorgeous. Excellent.
SS: Guardian #3 – Another great issue in the Kirby tradition. I thought the scenes with Jake and Carla were really affecting.
Essential Dr. Strange vol. 1 – I’ve had this forever but only just got around to finishing it. I love the Ditko art, but the rest of the artists in this volume (Dan Adkins, Marie Severin, a few others) do a great job as well. One of the more interestingly-written Marvels of the Silver Age as well, as the setting doesn’t really work with Stan Lee’s standard bad guys, namely, aliens and commies. (Not that I don’t love Stan when he’s writing aliens and commies, because I do. This was just a nice change.) Really a good volume.
