**WonK** , your thread this week wasn’t deleted (although I can’t speak for previous entries). As of this post, it is sitting on page 2 of Cafe Soceity with 0 posts and 25 views (one of them is me). If you look by post time, you started it at 11:19pm on 5/25/2005 (which, as of this typing, shows as “Yesterday”. [Your post.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=318308) The question should be why did no one else post to your thread, and instead respond to **Wolfian**. Personally, I think you get too “into” your comic monologues, so I tend to skip them. Take that for what it is, one man’s opinion from someone who likes to read comics but doesn’t share your (or **CandidGamera** ’s) level of passion. ---

Wolfian started it first. So we replied to his. For best results, if you want to start the comics thread, follow these guidelines : 1.) Make sure no one else has started it already. 2.) Name it consistently with the way we name it, so if one of us comes along with the same idea, we can see yours first, and not have to start a new one. I know I missed one you’d started at least once with a different name, and even though mine wss second, people posted there - because they look for the particular name format. This time you were pretty close, but Wolfian was first, and closer. I’ve been trying to dodge this issue lately by starting it Wednesday evening ASAP - that way there’s consistency all around, but I missed it this week due to a showing of Revenge of the Sith. ---

I’m not sure why any threads were deleted, I sure didn’t. However, if there’s a duplicate thread title and seemingly duplicate thread, then it’s possible that some Moderator merged them. It would be rare that a duplicate thread would just “disappear.” It might, of course, fall off the front page. Basically, we’d prefer to have one thread per topic; it’s easier for everyone and less confusing. So, if person A has started a thread about a topic, and then person B starts a thread about the same topic, we tend to either (i) merge the two threads or (ii) close one and direct people to the other. ---

Actually, now that I search, I find that your threads are still here: [New Comic Books for 5/27-28-05 (spoilers, reviews)](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=314118) has only one reply, however; and [New Comic Books for April 20/21, 2005](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=312962) has around 30 replies. I wonder if they’ve just fallen to the second page? ---
