…I don’t suppose anyone here could help me translate “Suck neutrons, you limp-wristed hippies!” into _Deutsch_?

Babel Fish just gave me “Sucking it neutrons, it limp the wrist tree, which embraces hippie!” And it didn’t even translate “hippie.”

…Or, at the least, could someone tell me if there even _is_ a word in German for “Hippie”? (Or “Pacifist,” even?)

Well, thanks for your patience…
Ranchoth

hippies = Hippies or Hippys. Has established itself in German; official spelling rules say to generate the plural the German way (Hippys) rather than the English way (Hippies).

What image is ‘limp-wristed’ meant to convey? Is it a term of nonspecific disparagement or does it allege something?

Since the phrase seems to be an insult, would it be appropriate to address the limp-wristed hippies as “Sie” or “du”?

_What image is ‘limp-wristed’ meant to convey? Is it a term of nonspecific disparagement or does it allege something?_

At least in the UK, it implies effeteness, non-manliness, homosexuality, etc.

Probably something on the order of _schwuler_.

Okay
Suck = Saug
Neutrons = Neutronen
You = Ihr (HippIES indicates its more than one)
Limp-wristed = Schwuchtelige (basically limp wristed means gay or a feminine guy)
Hippies = Hippys (Ain’t translated)

Saug Neutronen Ihr Schwuchtelige Hippies

is in my mind, as close a translation as your gonna get
but it kinda looses effect when u say it in german

If Limp-wristed means gay it should be translated as ‘Schwule’

naw

limp wristed is a description of someone… is that an adjective or verb? not sure…
been a while since school

If meant to imply not actual homosexuality but rather ‘non-manliness’ it could also be rendered as

Saugt Neutronen, ihr warmduschenden Hippies!

(warmduschend = warm-shower-taking)

While “Saugt Neutronen, ihr warmduschenden Hippies!” should be allright, I like “Lutscht Neutronen, ihr Hippie Weicheier!” better…

But why?

“Saugt” is the literal translation of “suck”, but i’ve never heard in an insult. IMHO, “Fresst Neutronen…” would be a much better translation, even though it means “Eat neutrons…”.
For the second part, I like **electrozion’s** “Hippie Weicheier” best.

I do a little flight-simulator work, and I’m going to write said message on a virtual bomb. (ONE bomb. One very BIG bomb.)

“Hippy” is a tad anachronistic, of course.
Thanks for the help, all!
