I just saw an old asian man with brown and blue eyes. That is, black pupils surrounded by brown and then a thin layer of blue. Weird. ---

I’ve been debating whether or not I can justify to myself the expense of purchasing off-the-wall contact lenses. Elizabeth Taylor has violet eyes. My youngest sons eyes appear to be gray, (I know its just a shade of blue) but mine and oldest son are vibrant blue…odd. ---

Since my eyes (depending on ambient lighting/what I’m wearing) sometimes have a thin inner ring of greenish brown, but are predominantly blue, I don’t think this is weird at all. 🙂 Actually, I’ve noticed this kind of coloring in several other people - definitely more common than violet (at least before contacts). * * * Sue from El Paso Experience is what you get when you didn’t get what you wanted. ---

On a slighty related note: I HATE my eyes. Oh, they’re not ugly by themselves, I suppose, but whip out a camera and I turn into Demon Woman! Well, I don’t know if this fits, but my eyes change color a lot. It depends on whether I’m outside, what color the sky is, and what my mood happens to be at the time. They range from a very light blue, meaning I’m happy-go-lucky, right up into a very dark blue/purple, meaning that I’m feeling some emotion very strongly. That, or I’ve been outside, and they’re whatever color the sky happens to be. I swear, it’s true. Too many people over the years have commented on it. So, when I don’t want anyone to know what I’m feeling, I hide behind sunglasses. 🆒 * * * To dream of the person you would like to be is to waste the person you are.—Anon. ---

Nope, happens to me too. Though mine range from bright green to grey to blue. The color tends to coordinate with the environment (particularly my shirt color), and my emotional state. More passionate emotions (anger, lust) are greener. ---

Well of course Cecil has covered [different colored eyes.](http://www.straightdope.com/columns/971205.html) I have one blue eye and one that is brown on the bottom half and blue on the top half. I always know when somewhen is really making eye contact when they suddenly stop in the middle of a conversation and say " Hey you’ve got different colored eyes ". It really doesn’t happen as often as you think. Perhaps people don’t make eye contact as often as they used to. ---

I have the same problem as Tyler. There are some really amusing evil-looking pictures of me floating around somewhere. What sucks is I have GREAT eyes, but they never come across well in photographs. I don’t think anyone’s ever do, though. ---
