The other evening, I was sitting in the kitchen and turned on our laptop computer (running Vista Home Premium) and a strange message rose up from the task bar. It said “Windows Media Player message rob\_laptop sharing files” or some such. I live on the corner. My two closest neighbors are two “little-old-ladies”. The one across the street is Jo and the lady next door is Pauline. Pauline does have a wireless network. I can’t think of anyone on my block named Rob.

I denied file sharing to rob\_laptop. Was someone trying to do a bad thing, or was it just some random neighbor’s laptop that happened to bump into my laptop out in netherworld? My computer has no problem connecting to my wireless G network. it also has Bluetooth, but it shouldn’t be findable.
