Another vote for Scott Walker, in that he makes music that sounds, to me, like nothing else ever made. Truly scary, beautiful work.
Also, following on from VC03’s comment about the noise scene, you might as well go back to the source of it all, and send some cash and love Whitehouse’s way - they’re in the middle of working on what they call ‘Afro-Noise’, which is pretty out there and wonderful.
