Duck is a fairly common last name, and Donald was a very common given name in the 20s and 30s, with is probably why Disney used it when it named the character in 1934, as opposed to say, David Duck, Douglas Duck, Dominic Duck, or Dylan Duck, names that might have been picked if he’d been “born” in later decades.
Anyway, I’ll bet there are plenty of men named Donald Duck born prior to 1934, and even a few born up to about 1937, when the character got to be really popular, with his own film series.

My son has a friend named Aloha. Aloha comes from a family of about 16 kids who all have wacky names, except for the oldest son, who is named after the dad (Greg). 🙂
Aloha has a son named Nova.
My grandson’s name is Midas. :dubious:
I have a co-worker whose daughers are named Meadow and Fable. Meadow just seems kind of hippy-dippy, but Fable has a pretty sound to it, I think.

Met an IT guy a couple months ago whose first name is Swastika. I know the Hindu origin and maybe it’s fairly common, but I must admit it was a bit strange to hear.

I hate to say it, but “Tyre King.” The first headlines I saw about the police shooting sounded like the police had shot some guy who owns a tire store, and does late-night TV commercials where he wears purple robe, carries a sceptre, and sits on a throne made of tires.
People really need to say the name out loud before they stick their kid with it.
I hope that doesn’t count as speaking ill of the dead. I mean, his name wasn’t his fault.

I realized that when I read the article and saw it was a first name, but the first headline I saw was simply something like “Tyre King Police Shooting.” It wasn’t even clear who shot whom.

hmmm, weird names.
Went to AIT with Pfc. Hare
Served at my first duty station with Pfc. Raper
Served at my second duty station with Pfc. then Spc. then Sgt. Pieper (pronounced peeper)
Far as the girls named Abcde, how do you even pronounce that? Do you suppose they just go by the nickname Abby?

I was at a conference one time and they would release a list of participants and what organization they represent. The names were in alphabetical order, last name first. One name in particular was “HUNT, Michael”. Best guess he never goes by “Mike”. 😃
